Additionally, brominating tabs kill bacteria and make your spa water less pH sensitive. Bromine is the most common method of sanitizing spas, and it’s perfect for indoor and covered spas. It’s important to use bromine tabs in your spa regularly, as an unkept spa can quickly grow harmful bacteria in a wet, hot environment. Make sure to test your spa water frequently to maintain a pH balance of 7.2-7.6 and 3-6 ppm of bromine. Also, it’s recommended to drain, clean, and refill your spa every 90 days.
