Stovetop Griddles

Nordic Ware has produced stovetop cookware for over six decades gaining expertise in cast aluminum, aluminized steel and PFOA-free nonstick coatings. Our cookware is designed with function and durability in mind, there’s truly something for everybody, and for every cooking style. We offer a wide variety of formed and cast aluminum griddles to suit every cooking style and need. They are great for the grill too!

How It’s Made: Cast Griddles

Cast aluminum griddles arrive from the die casting facility with sharp, burred edges. Over the decades, our metal fabrications department has perfected the way in which we process castings to ensure smooth, quality parts that you’ll be proud to have in your kitchen. Here, our griddles are shown in the routing machine. The perimeter of each griddle is trimmed and smoothed by a rotating bit, and the inside of each handle is trimmed out. The bits of scrap that come from this process are recycled, which contributes to our overall effort toward manufacturing sustainability and eliminating waste.

Our Story

Nordic Ware was founded in 1946 by a determined wife, Dotty, and her resourceful husband Dave, newly back from the second world war. With only five hundred dollars in their pockets, a few good ideas and a desire to create a business of their own, a humble kitchenware company was launched from the basement of their home in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In the beginning, Nordic Ware’s product line was only a handful of items, all of which were specialty Scandinavian ethnic cookware products. But times have changed! 70 years later with a good measure of perseverance added, Nordic Ware is still proudly manufacturing the vast majority of its products in Minneapolis. We’re proud to say that we’re still family-owned and operated, with three generations involved in our business, and each year we add innovative items to our expansive kitchenware line.

70 Years of Innovation

Still a family owned and operated in the US, the company is honored to occupy a place in the new Food History exhibit at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. In 2015, Nordic Ware was chosen for the prestigious Minnesota Manufacturing Award for Sustainability, which firms we work hard to minimize our environmental footprint.
