Sometimes the best tool for the job is something that isn’t the tool for that job. Like the best tire for your trailer isn’t a trailer tire, a truck tire is better. Might cost more but you want the best equipment. These are called welding gloves but at the end of the day they are simply…gloves. Yes, they are made for MIG welding and stick welding. But they are some of the best protection for when you’re barbecuing. Compare with an oven mitt. These would be far superior. A great choice if you’re making your living cooking on a grill or cooking at a large function. If you have to handle animals, wild or domestic they would be a good choice. Cleaning up properties with large amounts of scrap metal. I use them when landscaping at my home in the Sierra Foothills. I don’t know if they’ll stop a rattlesnake but they’ll be harder to bite than your bare hand or thin work gloves. These gloves are tough and thick. They have a good long cuff that will protect your wrist. Might cost more than your average workglove but they provide extra protection.Sometimes the best workglove for the job is a welding glove.

I have owned plenty of uncomfortable welding gloves that were stiff and harsh. These Lincoln Electric MIG welding gloves were the opposite! The fit was slightly tight for my hand but that is not Lincoln Electric’s fault. I probably need XL gloves instead of L. Regardless, the gloves were comfortable, flexed well and did not distract from my welding. I also appreciated the extra long cuff which provided additional protection.

I received the Lincoln Electric Extra-Large MIG Welding Gloves, White/Red to test for Home Depot. I am very impressed. The fit is as advertised and the gloves seem to be very well made. In addition to the protection they offer, there is no sacrifice of any dexterity. I have no issue gabbing the welder or holding any piece of stock. I think that these gloves with be able to serve me for years.

I’m used to welding gloves that feel like punishment. These Lincoln gloves are actually soft and comfortable inside instead of rock hard leather seams digging into my flesh. Extends up your arm a bit to avoid getting burned because you were too busy to wear something with long sleeves. The bright red color declares your allegiance to Team Red so everyone know where you stand on welder brands. I do not have massive hands, but I’m not dainty either, and the large fits me well without having a ton a excess space inside so I can move or hold onto work pieces easier.
