Lay’s Kettle Cooked Potato Chips Variety Pack, 0.85 Ounce (Pack of 40)
Lay’s Kettle Cooked Potato Chips
Wherever celebrations and good times happen, the LAY’S brand will be there just as it has been for more than 75 years. With only the best ingredients, our LAY’S Kettle Cooked Original chips are ready for your enjoyment.
- Includes 40 single serving bags of your favorite Lay’s Kettle Cooked Potato Chips
- 14 bags of Jalapeno flavored kettle cooked chips, 14 bags of Original kettle cooked chips, and 12 bags of Mesquite BBQ flavored kettle cooked chips
- Kettle cooked to perfection
- Perfect for enjoying at home, at work or on-the-go
- Our snacks have a short shelf life (60-90 days) so most of our packages only show the month and day of expiration (e.g. “Aug 16” means August 16th, not August 2016). For optimum flavor and freshness, we recommend the snack be consumed by the date on the package.

I have ordered this several times now, despite some of the negative reviews.
It comes in a Frito Lay box. The bags inside are NOT out of date (at least I haven’t found any that were). But the dates are close. You might have a few weeks or a couple months on them.
The main problem I can see is that the individual packages look heat stressed, like they were stored in a warehouse in a desert climate. Out of four cases, I had only one bag that had burst open. I didn’t find this to be really concerning, considering the excellent price per pound.
I have only had one bag that was obviously stale, the rest were deliciously edible. And at the price, it’s really hard to complain.
I buy these for myself. The large bags at the store are too expensive, and I can’t keep from tearing open the bag and eating straight to the bottom. With these little bags, I control my snacking by eating two little bags every evening, and it’s delicious, satisfying, and limits my dumb appetite for salty carbs. I still get to indulge.
This case of not-so-dodgy chips is my #1 snack option now, allowing me to have my cake and eat it too.
Each case is a 20 day supply of chips for me, so the dates are not an issue. Even past date or stale, it’s not like they are dangerous or anything.
I highly recommend this particular deal if you have the ability to manage consuming them on a set schedule, and don’t have perfectionist expectations.
I have zero complaints. The only complaint I would have is: if I couldn’t buy these anymore.
Happy Snacking 😀

These come in a regular box, so upon opening, I had no clue what they were, so don’t expect some fancy box or packaging, but hey, what a nice surprise when I seen a bunch of small bags of chips! They won’t last long at my house seeing there are so many of us, so the regular box is nice and convenient for us!
I have to say, the chips are the perfect size to just grab & go, or perfect for letting the little ones pick out their own bags for a snack or with lunch. My husband & older sons grab a couple bags and throw them in their lunch pail for work. I can see myself ordering this again soon as they are almost gone!
The Kettle Cooked is a nice change up from us always buying the regular chips. I wasn’t sure if I would like them as i never had them before. I actually LOVE them and find myself eating a couple bags at a time each day! The chips are very fresh and tasty. I am not into spicy or hot stuff so I am leaving the Jalapeno ones for those who are more daring them me. loll
Overall we are very satisfied with these chips and as I said, I will be ordering them again, very soon!

Just got my box of chips. Unlike the other reviews I read, they are not about to expire, they have a couple of months to go. And they are not the least bit stale, as some reviewed, they are fresh and crunchy and salty, just like I love em! My granddaughters love the classic Lays chips as well, so they are perfect for the grandkids lunches when they come to visit, or just for snacks. I’m glad I found these on Amazon, I don’t care for the variety pack, which is all that is available in grocery stores – prefer the plain ole classic Lays.

We have a little “bodega” at work. There are a variety of sweet and savory snacks that are available for staff who make a contribution to a local non-profit organization that provides support for people struggling with social issues. The suggested donation for snacks in the bodega is $1, which is a bargain when compared with the vending machines. We strive to provide good value for the charitable contribution, and this box of kettle chips delivered! I am most happy about the fact that we now offer jalapeno chips in the bodega. They are zesty without making me cry. I am also happy to share such crunchy deliciousness with my colleagues while benefiting our community.
