This is a battery operated cordless handheld vacuum cleaner. It has a 14 Volt built-in Lithium battery. It comes with a charger. The unit must be plugged into 115 VAC and charged for eight hours before its first use. You cannot plug it into cigarette lighter for charging. The charging has nothing to do with an auto. The unit has no specific use for cleaning auto. It is a general purpose vacuum cleaner that can be used in the house as well as in the automobile. I don’t know how 14 Volts reflects as a suction power, but it does have a good suction power to remove dried out dirt from the upholstered car seats as well as fabric upholstered sofa and curtains in the house.
