This saw works really well. It is lightweight and easy to operate with either hand since you can easily see where the blade contacts the wood from either side. I wondered if it would have enough power but it really cuts fast and clean. Also I doesn’t seem to be as loud, when cutting, as my big corded circular saw. I got it in a kit with a battery and charger. The battery that came with it and the batteries from my other Makita LXT star tools all work interchangeably without problems or modifications. Its already been knocked off the bench on to the ground (outside) a few times and has not suffered any damage not even a crack. Along with this saw, there is a 20yr old 12V Makita drill driver in the attached image that still works! That’s even after being dropped on the concrete from 8ft up several times. No, it is not compatible with the LXT star tools.
