This motherboard is great to pair with a Ryzen 3000 CPU.
Choosing a motherboard can be confusing, as there is so much choice. After a lot of time and research, I settled on the x570 Gaming Pro Carbon to go with my 3700x, and I am really pleased with my decision.
Everything worked out of the box. Installation instructions were clear and simple. A lot of other manufacturers have had high profile issues with their release bios, this MSI worked perfectly for me.
The chipset fan is very quiet, and chipset temps are low because of the good heatsync and layout design. The MSI Frozr heatsync and fan compares very favourably to other boards that my friends went with (ASRock, and ASUS).
My GSkill 3200c15 worked first time with the XMP profile(even though it wasn’t on the QVL list), and the board was very happy running them overclocked at either 3200c14 or 3600c16. The BIOS has lots of pre-programmed memory timings if you want to try overclocking. It’s great if you aren’t an expert in overclocking. Memory results will obviously differ depending on the sticks you choose.
The new Dragon Center software is one of the best bundled software packages I’ve used. It contains all the programs that control motherboard features (LEDs, fans, updates, Wifi, performance monitor, network monitor and tools). All of these are in one place, rather than needing to install 5 different programs
The board also had a full feature set that matches some more expensive boards. Wifi, Bluetooth, high-powered VRM, metal heatsync for the Chipset and NVMe drives, error LEDs, large number of ports and connectors.
I’m naturally quite a critical person, but this board exceeded my expectations.

the msi mg x570 gaming pro carbon wifi is a really nice looking motherboard
the rgb is all controlled by the dragon app which i found to be very easy to use.
There was lots of custom settings available to change i could sync up other rgb components in my build.
My 4 year old son approves even my partner said it was pretty awesome.
The motherboard has two m.2 gen4 pci 4.0 slots which have there own frozr shield heatsinks.
the frozr heatsink covers over the chipset which is activly cooled by a fan i didnt fdind it to be loud in fact i didnt notice it at all.
There is six sata 6gb ports for storage i found to be enough for what i needed.
there could be a couple more usb ports on the i/o but i have a usb 3.0 pci card anyway so it didnt really matter to me.
i plan to put a 3900x ryzen 9 into this board but at time of writing i am using a ryzen 2600x
the vrms has 10+2 power stage delivery so i hope its enough for the ryzen 3900x.
There is a massive heavy duty heatsink on the mosfets to aid cooling.
There are lots of fan headers on the board with full fan control letting me control how fast and noisey i want them to be depending on what im doing.
there is 2 pci x16 slots both enforced by steel to strengthen your gpu.
Strengths
the rgb makes the board stand out compared to other boards in the price range i found
performance
frozr heatshield with active cooling
future compatiblity
backwards compatibility
wifi 6
bios was easy to navigate round

The chipset fan is a bit loud, and chipset temps are a bit high in my opinion but its all good when you manually input 34% fan speed in BIOS

Highly recommend it especially since its on sale right now!

so when i purchased this board on teh 8th July i was worried that buying equipment with a brand new chipset would lead to many days of bugs and troubleshooting, this i would expect with any new hardware that is using a new standard. i was pleasently surprised the board simply worked first time, no BIOS updates required. the mystic light syncronisation works perfectly with the Trident Z Ram i purchased and comming from a very old intel setup with no RGB i was amazed how the software can cotrol across hardare manufacturers. installing both the CPU and teh M2 drive was simple and the instructions supplied in teh box were simple yet effectiv. super happy with this purchase nd in teh future would not hesitate in buying any other hardware made by MSI.
