The lever style lock system allows for quick tool-less installation and replacement of attachments. The 10 in. Pole Saw Attachment provides 7 ft. fixed length for trimming hard to reach branches and the String Trimmer Attachment includes a rapid loading bump and feed trimmer head loaded with 0.080″ twisted quiet line. The couple shaft can also be used with multiple other attachments for edging, cultivating, and brush cutting (sold separately). The Makita-built brushless motor delivers up to 7,000 RPM with String Trimmer Attachment and 3,940 FPM with 10 in. Pole Saw Attachment. What a nice set. I have battery powered string trimmers from three other companies and this might be my favorite trimmer except for a couple of issues. It has gobs of power and runs silky smooth. It is as good as my red trimmer and way better than my green trimmers. The problem for me is the on/off button. You have to turn the button on each time you want to start the trimmer if you let your grip off the safety switch. It is a real pain. The other problem is the size of battery you can put in there. I needed four of the 4ah batteries to do my yard, where my red trimmer has a 12ah battery, and you don’t need to change it. Not a huge deal, but kind of a pain if the battery dies at the back of the yard. If you have Makita batteries, I would not hesitate to get this.
